EMTA is proud to welcome the public transport authority of Toulouse, Tisséo Collectivités, as its 35th member. Toulouse was approved as an EMTA member in the general meeting of the association, currently taking place in Kraków, Poland.
“It is a great opportunity for us to learn from other public transport authorities in Europe and benefit from the sharing of knowledge across EMTA members. Of course, we also have a lot to share with our peers, Toulouse being one of the fastest-growing cities in Europe”, says Vincent Georjon, the deputy CEO of Tisséo Collectivités.
Tisséo is responsible for defining the transport policy and organising and financing its implementation across the metropolitan area. Tisséo also organises public transport and mobility services, is responsible for the mobility policy and pricing, and owns all transport infrastructure and rolling stock fleet in its area.
Toulouse is located in the south of France, in the department of Haute-Garonne. Tisséo’s network covers approximately 1.1 million inhabitants. Tisséo provides services on four modes: there are two metro lines, two tram lines, buses and an urban cable car line.
Current development projects of Tisséo include the construction of the third metro line (the C line) and the preparation of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the region.
