The Prague Integrated Transport System (PID) has introduced PID Haló, a pilot project for demand-responsive transport. It is the first implementation of transport on demand under a public service obligation contract. Unlike traditional transport, PID Haló features flexible routes tailored to passenger needs, integrating seamlessly with the existing Prague Integrated Transport System.

The project utilizes the PID Lítačka app for booking, supported by advanced technology that includes virtual assistants for scheduling and a mobile app for drivers. However, current legislation imposes limitations, requiring predefined routes and fixed schedules, which the project aims to navigate ahead of expected legislative changes in 2025.

PID Haló is designed to replace low-occupancy regular services, particularly during off-peak hours and weekends, enhancing connectivity in less accessible areas. The Public Transport Authority of Central Bohemia plans to expand this service across the region, aiming for increased operational efficiency and improved passenger experience.
