In about 3 years from now, passengers in the Warsaw metropolitan area will use a new ticketing system that will be quick, easy, comfortable and intuitive. The Public Transport Authority (ZTM) has just started the procedure to select a contractor for the project.
“Setting up a new ticketing system is a very large, long-term and demanding project, taking into account the size of Warsaw and the entire agglomeration, as well as our extensive tariff offer. Therefore, when planning the new system, we had to think everything through and plan it in detail. It took us a lot of effort to prepare the procedure, but today we can proudly announce that we are ready to implement a new system of public transport fares! ” confirms Katarzyna Strzegowska – Director of ZTM.
The new ticketing system will make it possible to pay for the journey using a payment card, phone, smartwatch and city card. This means that passengers will not have to worry about buying tickets and validating them, and the journey itself will be quick and efficient. Security will be guaranteed by cooperation with experienced and proven partners specializing in cashless payments: Visa and MasterCard.
The new ticketing system is another step towards making Warsaw the “capital of convenience”.
